Properly secured container doors
2026-05-21

Dear Customers,

Due to observed irregularities in the preparation of containers for transport, we kindly request increased diligence and enhanced inspections prior to handing over units for further carriage—regardless of the mode of transport (rail, road, or ship).

Please be reminded that every container must be properly closed, which in particular means:

  • all locking bars must be fully secured,

  • no looseness indicating incomplete closure is allowed,

  • handles must be in the closed position and properly seated in their retainers,

  • protection against accidental opening must be ensured,

  • all locking components must be in proper working condition.

Unsecured locking bars or handles left outside their retainers pose a direct risk to transport safety, personnel, infrastructure, transport equipment, and the cargo itself—both during terminal operations and throughout further transportation.

In this regard, we kindly request that you exercise due care and implement or reinforce control procedures at the loading and container preparation stage.

Please also note that containers not meeting safety requirements may be held at any stage of transport until the identified issues are rectified.

Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards throughout the supply chain.
