Baltic Hub Container Terminal Sp. z o.o., as part of call for proposals No. FENX.05.06-IP.02-001/24, European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate, and Environment Program 2021-2027, received a grant from the European Union for the implementation of the project “Electrification and Modernization of the Intermodal Terminal in Gdańsk.”

The project comprises:

• the modernization of STS cranes, including passenger lifts, increasing the height of the cranes, modernizing control systems and drives, and fitting cable reels;

• the purchase of a system for monitoring refrigerated containers, as well as the modernization of reefer platforms;

• construction works relating to the railway siding;

• the purchase of IMV-type vehicles;

• the purchase of an STS gantry crane and aRMG gantry cranes.

The benefits of the project will be enjoyed by entrepreneurs operating within the core TEN-T network, which includes the Baltic Hub Container Terminal Sp. z o.o.

• logistics and freight forwarding operators,

• rail carriers,

• transport and logistics companies.

The choice of this target group is fully justified by the location and role of Baltic Hub Container Terminal Sp. z o.o. as the largest deep-water container terminal in Central and Eastern Europe, constituting an important hub in international supply chains.

The project responds to the current needs of terminal users, in particular:

• increasing operational capacity,

• improving the efficiency of logistics processes,

• developing railway infrastructure,

• implementing modern monitoring systems.

As a result of the Project, the target group will gain:

• better access to modern intermodal infrastructure,

• increased operational and time efficiency,

• the opportunity to develop its activities on foreign markets,

• support in achieving environmental and climate goals.
