Dear Sir or Madam,
On October 4, 2025, changes will be introduced to the process of handling empty containers in the VBS system.
From that date, vehicles delivering or collecting empty containers will be required to register in advance in the VBS system.
The inclusion of empty containers in the VBS system will allow for better forecasting of the number of vehicles and will improve the organization of work at the Baltic Hub terminal, which will translate into greater efficiency in the handling of trucks.
Until now, operations with empty containers were not subject to notification, which resulted in their unplanned and uncontrolled arrival at the terminal.
What will the process for transactions with empty containers alone look like?
The VBS system will provide a separate pool of slots (“EMPTY”) for the notification of vehicles handling only empty containers.
What will the handling of mixed transactions look like?
In the case of mixed transactions (i.e., unloading an empty container and loading a full one), the system will automatically provide a standard pool of slots (“STANDARD”).
What is the role of the shipping line in this process?
The delivery of empty containers will require the shipowner to make a notification in the Navis system. The shipowner will choose between the following two options:
Notification by container number, where all container data will be completed by the shipowner (as in the case of an export container)
or
Notification to the ERO number, where the shipowner will create a reference order number based solely on the type/size of the container. Details such as the container number or ISO type will be assigned by the OCR system and confirmed by the driver at the first self-service kiosk.
PICKING UP empty containers will require the shipowner to make a notification in the Navis system, i.e., as before, to create an EDO or Booking. After the shipping line has created a notification in the Navis system, it will be possible for the driver/carrier to make a notification in the VBS system.
Notification process instructions:
A detailed description of the notification process is presented in an instructional video (LINK) and in training materials (LINK), available to all users.
Dear Sir or Madam,
We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the most frequently asked questions and answers for External Drivers traveling through the Baltic Hub Container Terminal.
Temporary traffic arrangements at Baltic Hub from September 1, 2025 – information for external drivers
Dear Sir or Madam,
We would like to inform you about temporary changes to traffic arrangements at Baltic Hub for external vehicles.
From September 1, the roundabout behind the entrance gates will be temporarily closed, a detour to Terminal T2 will be designated, and the exit from Terminals T1 and T3 will be changed.
Please familiarize yourself with the following rules:
Entry to terminal T2:
➡️turn right behind the gates, as for terminal T1/T3/CFS
➡️follow the main road between S4 and I1
➡️then turn between blocks S and A towards T2.
Travel from T1 and T3 to the exit gates or to terminal T2:
➡️ take the road between blocks S and A
➡️ for the exit gates - turn left at block F3/F4
➡️ for terminal T2 - turn right at block F3/F4.
To enter terminal T1/T3 from terminal T2, turn left at the end of block F3 (towards the quay).
To exit terminal T2 to the exit gates, follow the same route as before.
We would like to remind you that entry to the quay is prohibited 🚫
The technical area at the roundabout at T1 near R3 will be temporarily unavailable. A temporary technical area will be designated at S4 bay 01-03 during the first few days of September. Until then, please use the other technical areas located at terminals T2 and T3.
Please exercise extreme caution when entering the OCR exit gates.
We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for complying with the new rules.

Temporary traffic organization at terminal T3 - information for external drivers
Due to the expansion of the Baltic Hub terminal and the gradual commissioning of storage yards at the new terminal, we present a map of the temporary traffic organization at T3, intended for external drivers.
The yellow arrows on the map indicate the direction of travel for external drivers.
The technical area at T3 is located at block Y9 (yellow rectangle on the map).
The entrance to the T3 terminal is located at block B.
The roads between the blocks are one-way roads. Driving against the flow of traffic is prohibited. If it is necessary to load/discharge a container through the door facing the cabin, please contact the e.Brama Call Center.
Entry to the quay is prohibited.
The traffic organization is in effect until further notice.
We ask all drivers to exercise caution, follow the horizontal and vertical markings, and comply with the instructions of terminal staff.

Information on the disposal of empty containers
Please note, that Baltic Hub is not responsible for the content published on external websites:
Please note: in all cases, please verify the information with your principals (freight forwarders, shipowners).
Dear Sirs,
We would like to inform you that the Baltic Hub terminal scales operate in a semi-automatic system, which means that the weighing process is carried out by the driver himself (after prior ordering of the weighing service in the Terminal Operating System by the Shipowner/Shipper).
No receipts are printed from the terminal scales, and the documents confirming the container weight are sent to the e-mail address provided by you (given when the order was issued) immediately after weighing.
Please take a look at the instructional video.
