In order to meet the expectations of our surroundings we support the local community by means of investing on a regular basis in school and academic educational projects and the development of physical activity of children and young people, but we do not forget about help due to elderly people.

As you know, together with the Biological Station of the University of Gdańsk we created the only artificial dune in Poland, made with the use of the sand from the beach which used to be in the place of the current location of T2 terminal.

This place is used not only for research purposes, but also for educational purposes. Every year DCT sponsors a trip to the Biological Station of the University of Gdańsk to Sobieszewska island, on the premises of which there is the dune laboratory, for the elderly people from “Ostoja” nursing home in Gdańsk.

Seniors living in the vicinity of DCT have an opportunity to visit the laboratory, find out about protected species and about the works performed on the spot by the scientists from the University of Gdańsk.
