On August 11th, ms Arcadia the biggest cruise vessel to have ever called at the Gdansk port – berthed at the new DCT Gdansk container terminal.
She is also the second largest vessel owned by P&O Cruises. ms Arcadia is a modern luxury cruise vessel launched in 2005 in Italy having cost in excess of 400 million USD to build. ms Arcadia with her length of over 286 metres and almost 33 metres in breadth can reach a speed of up to 22 knots. Panoramic glass lifts on the exterior of the ship are a distinctive feature of the vessel – two located on the port side and two on the starboard side.


With eleven passenger decks, ms Arcadia has at the disposal of all her guests (among others): 14 bars, several restaurants, cafés, two swimming pools with an entire leisure complex, three-level Palladium theatre, casino, night club, library, cinema and spa with beauty shops. ms Arcadia moored at the DCT Gdansk quay with 2,015 passengers and 871 crew on board. DCT Gdansk terminal conveniently accommodates large cruise vessels because of the excellent navigational conditions, as well as very short distance to main tourist attractions in the city and entire Pomeranian region.


DCT’s location as a perfect port of call allowed the passengers to discover the beauty of northern Poland via several trips organised by the vessel’s tour operator during the all-day stay at the Port of Gdansk.


ms Arcadia’s call at DCT was part of a Baltic cruise that started in Southampton on August the 7th, with a planned visit to nine ports of nine various countries.
