Over the last three months DCT Gdansk initiated a number of aid activities to help those affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

From the very beginning, bearing in mind the Ukrainian citizens working for DCT Gdansk, we knew we could not remain passive in the face of this unprecedented tragedy. Thanks to the enormous commitment of our employees, material and financial aid was given to Ukrainian citizens who became victims of the war. Aid is provided to those in need both directly and through NGOs and charities.

We have undertaken extensive cooperation with the County Youth Centre in Garczyn near Kościerzyna, where 120 children from Ukrainian orphanages have found shelter. We took part in equipping the center’s kitchen, thanks to which it is no longer necessary to use external catering.

We also donated 6 laptops and a desktop computer to the children of the centre and initiated a financial fundraiser among the employees. Every zloty donated by employees was doubled by DCT. With the money collected, we bought prepaid cards to CCC and Reserved shops where the children from the centre could buy clothes and shoes.

We also financed the participation of three Ukrainian children in a school trip from our neighboring Primary School No. 61 in Gdańsk, which we have been supporting for a long time.

Through the Association of Children's Villages (SOS Wioski Dziecięce) we provided financial support to abandoned children and foster families in Ukraine.

We donated to UNICEF - the money was used to provide children with a safe shelter, psychological support and medical care.

Ukrainian citizens need our support in terms of medical assistance. DCT employees together with our shareholder PSA Group collected first aid kits as part of a campaign initiated by one of our Ukrainian employees. Part of the first aid kits were donated to the "Hospitalieri" Medical Battalion, which was collecting medical aid for soldiers. Most were donated to the Polish-Ukrainian border.

We work in cooperation with NGOs and humanitarian organisations to help refugees, who often have to leave their entire lives in Ukraine.

We supported the Polish Red Cross - the funds raised were used to purchase food, clothing and other priority needs.

We also provided funds to the Polish Humanitarian Action in order to provide direct aid (food and other forms of support) to people who had to flee their homes. Support was provided to both people in Ukraine and refugees in Poland.

As part of the fundraising for Gdańsk Aid Foundation, we transferred funds for humanitarian aid activities carried out by NGOs that already carry out such activities in Ukraine and for aid provided to the Ukrainian community in Gdańsk.

We provided financial support to the Stella Maris Centre for Seafarers in Gdynia, where 48 people from Ukrainian families of seamen and sailors found safe shelter.

We assure you that we are prepared to support our friends from Ukraine, and we would like to thank our employees for their great involvement in this assistance.
