Baltic Hub employees once again showed that they have big hearts! As part of the annual "Moving for Charity" challenge, our employees accumulated more than 26,000 minutes of activity by engaging in various sports! This is an impressive result and shows that physical activity can not only improve health, but also help others.
“Moving for Charity” is an initiative in cooperation with PSA EuroMed & PSA Americas, which the Baltic Hub has joined for another consecutive year. The main objective was for teams of max. six employees to accumulate at least 2,000 minutes of sporting activity over a 2-week period. Why 2,000 minutes? This is in line with the recommendations of the World Health Organisation, which suggests 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise per week for a healthy lifestyle.
The efforts of the participants also had a charitable dimension. The minutes were converted into money, which was donated to the Pomerania for Children Foundation. This foundation, which operates in our neighbouring district of Stogi, provides palliative care for terminally ill children and support for their families. It also supports families after a loss and offers perinatal palliative care for those who have received a difficult diagnosis during pregnancy.
Participants had a wide range of options in terms of the form of activity. From hiking, running, cycling, swimming to more specialised sports such as paddle boarding, surfing, mountain climbing or even riding a horse The Baltic Hub also organised a group workout with a trainer in the gym during the challenge.
We would like to thank all the employees involved for supporting this extremely important initiative for our community and are already inviting them to take part in next year's edition of “Moving for Charity”!
