Green revolution in the Baltic Hub car fleet

The first electric cars and the company's own charging station - this is just the beginning of the changes in the Baltic Hub's fleet of cars, which are part of the implementation of a zero-emissions strategy of replacing combustion cars with electric ones.

The crisis in the car industry caused first by the coronavirus pandemic and then by the war in Ukraine has not halted Baltic Hub's pro-environmental activities. On the contrary, the replacement of cars with electric ones is only the beginning of Baltic Hub's environmental protection activities.

The oldest cars in the Operations and Maintenance departments were replaced first. Today, the 'average age' of a Baltic Hub company car is 3.5 years. By comparison, the average age of a car in Poland is a staggering 13 years! Baltic Hub "in the service of saving the planet"

Preparations for the reduction of CO2 in the Baltic Hub fleet, thanks to the purchase of the first zero-emission cars, started two years ago. As a result, the first five electric cars in the Baltic Hub's history have now arrived. As the electrification of the fleet needs to be comprehensive, the project to install an internal charging station for electric vehicles started in the first quarter of this year.

The contract was signed in July and already in August, the commissioning of the station took place in the internal car park at the CFS warehouse. The parking spaces were painted green and marked with an "EV" sign.

There will be further stations

The launch of the station in the internal car park next to the CFS warehouse is the first stage of a project to develop the fleet towards zero emissions. The next location will be the car park in front of the Maintenance Department building.
