The Drakkar rowing club is another beneficiary of the Busole District Grant. Thanks to the grant, young people from the districts of Stogi, Przeróbka and Górki Zachodnie could benefit from free rowing classes.
Busole blew wind into the oars of young athletes from the surrounding neighbourhoods.
Rowing classes were held at the club facilities six times a week. Children and young people were able to participate in, among other things: training in the sports hall, gym, rowing ergometers, running games, activities on rowing boats, kayaks and a dragon boat.
The main idea behind the project was to get young people interested in rowing as an excellent and healthy alternative to traditional after-school activities. The aim of Drakkar was also to prove that sport can be a great adventure, full of challenges, work on oneself and giving a lot of satisfaction.
The sporting activities were very successful, with around 80 young people taking part, some of whom became involved in rowing permanently.
By supporting the project, the Baltic Hub has once again responded to the needs of the local community in terms of sports education, youth activation and looking after the wellbeing of its Neighbours.
