In November, work was completed by a vessel engaged in levelling the seabed after dredging, so-called ploughing, and thus work is now taking place exclusively on the area of the artificial island created by the loading of the 36 hectares - the future T3 terminal.
November and December work fronts focused primarily on deep foundation work - CFA pile installation. A full range of 100 % CFA piles under the capping beam of main quay wall and more than 65 % CFA piles under the rear beam, which will serve as the foundation for the rail on which the quay cranes will move, were completed.
It is interesting to note that the piles that have been made under the capping beam of the main quay are one of the largest that have been made in Poland to date.
The machine itself, was specially ordered and then imported from abroad for the purpose of making them.
There is also a high concentration of work on the future container storage yards. Work is being carried out on concreting the elements on which the rail will be mounted and on which the semi-automatic yard cranes will move. The advancement of the aforementioned works is approximately 35%. These works are being carried out in parallel on the four storage yards, where the installation of the cranes is planned to begin in the second half of next year.
In December, work began on the north quay of the T3 terminal in connection with the concreting of the capping beam and the driving of the remaining section of the south quay wall.
The contractor is continuing ground consolidation works on the remaining part of the project and the current advancement of works is 60% for the entire area. Underground infrastructure works are also continuing.
In the coming months, work will focus on the execution of reinforced concrete elements in all areas and the execution of underground infrastructure.
