This year’s exceptionally mild winter is helping to deal with construction work on the T3 at Baltic Hub terminal. The favorable atmospheric conditions and, in particular, the high outdoor temperature, allow concrete work, which is currently one of the largest open work fronts, to continue in full swing.

Surcharge is nearing completion, there is only 2% of the area left where surcharge needs to be made, this work will be completed by the end of February 2024. On the other hand, soil consolidation is completed in 70% of the reclamation area, and further work fronts have been opened to this extent. The full scope of 100% CFA - Continuous flight auger piles under the main quay's capping beam along with Jet Grouting columns and 100% CFA piles under the rear beam have been completed. Completion of the aforementioned pile works allowed the start of works related to the construction of reinforced concrete beams on which will rest the rails on which the future quay cranes - STS (Ship to Shore) - will move. In the area between the beams of the main quay and the rear crane beam, deep soil improvement works remains to be done, which will be completed in March 2024. This will be the last element to be done before the start of underground utility installation works and then paving in this area.

A large concentration of both reinforced concrete and underground infrastructure work, i.e., electrical power and sanitary installations, is taking place in the future container storage yards. The crane beams at the first four storage yards are 60% completed, and the Contractor will soon start installing the rails for semi-automatic yard cranes. In parallel, the Contractor is carrying out all the mentioned works on the remaining areas of future container storage.

In January 2024, work began on the building structures – electrical substation, work resumed on the south closing quay in terms of driving the sheet piling along with the installation of the waling beams structure with anchoring through micro piles. Throughout the period, work continues on the existing terminals T1 and T2 related to the connection of electrical power installations to the newly built transformer stations T3
