Taking Over Certificate and the achievement of Milestone B
The next stage of the construction T3 project reached a significant milestone in September, marked by the issuance of the Taking Over Certificate and the achievement of Milestone B. This phase included the completion of essential works in the designated area for the Automated Rail Mounted Gantry (ARMG) stacks, which will play a critical role in the overall operation of the facility.
Delivery and installation of equipment
Thanks to the contractor's quick and efficient efforts, the components for the first four of the planned 20 RMG cranes began arriving on July 31, with the installation process set to be underway by the end of September. In addition, we are pleased to report that four Ship-to-Shore (STS) cranes are currently en route to Gdańsk, with an anticipated arrival date at the end of October. Furthermore, we take pride in having achieved an impressive milestone of 1 million man-hours without any Lost Time Injuries (LTI) during the ongoing works, underscoring our commitment to safety on the site.
Works and installations
Last month, several key installations were successfully completed on the Main Quay Wall. These included the installation of fenders, bollards, rescue equipment, and navigation lights, all of which are crucial for enhancing the functionality and safety of the quay. The contractor has also completed the installation of the first 360 meters of slotted drains along the rear crane beam in the apron area, with the remaining work continuing as planned. We are currently awaiting the delivery of essential quay equipment, including ladders, handholds, and warning signs, which will enable us to finalize the work on the North Return Wall.
In terms of completed works on site, we have successfully finished the construction of the entire length of Quay Walls retaining structure which include North wall Main Quay and South Wall . Additionally, pavement between the Main Quay Wall (MQW) and the Rear Crane Beam (RCB) have been carried out for the first section where Ship to Shore crane will be offloaded, along with establishing power connections to Substations B1 and B2.
Ongoing work
Ongoing work at the site includes the installation of a new duct and water supply system on the T3 platform, as well as the implementation of a platform drainage system. We are also in the process of installing 14-meter light masts, and the installation of 5-meter poles has commenced. The continuation of the installation of quay equipment is also underway, alongside the erection of reefer racks from Y2 to Y4 and X2 to X4. Additionally, we are connecting IT equipment within Buildings B1 and B2, and pavement work of various types is progressing. Efforts to continue installing reefer racks are ongoing, and we are also starting work on pedestrian walkways. Finally, the construction of the B3 firefighting tank is in progress, further enhancing the safety infrastructure of the site.
