Changes in the Handling of Empty Container Return Appointments in the e.Brama System

Dear Sir or Madam,

We would like to inform you that, in response to carriers’ needs regarding the return of empty containers, effective June 1, 2026, BHCT is introducing the following rules concerning the removal of empty container return tasks from appointments in the event of a change in return instructions issued by the shipping line.

All appointments created prior to the change of instructions may—at the request of the driver or carrier—be modified by removing the empty container return task. If this task is the only one included in the appointment, the entire appointment will also be cancelled.

The removal of the task will also apply to appointments created within 24 hours following the change of empty container return instructions by a given shipping line. Appointments created more than 24 hours after the change will not be subject to modification.

These rules will remain in force until appropriate system solutions are implemented directly in the e.Brama system and will subsequently be incorporated into the e.Brama System Regulations.
